Testimony Sunday

Yes, we know “testimony” is not a word you often hear in Orthodox circles! We’re borrowing it (with a bit of tongue in cheek) from our largely Protestant neighbors here in upstate South Carolina, but we’re using it sincerely. After all, sharing how Christ has worked in our lives and how we’ve come to love His Church is a beautiful and powerful witness.

Once a month, on the 3rd Sunday, following Divine Liturgy, we’ll gather for Testimony Sunday, a simple time of storytelling and conversation among parishioners and those who are exploring the Orthodox faith. Each session will feature an approximately 15-minute presentation, followed by open discussion with all who are gathered.

Stories may include reflections on Orthodoxy more broadly, but should also touch on each speaker’s personal connection to St. John of the Ladder, and to this parish community in particular. Presenters may share aspects of their background—what drew…
